Hi,

Im after an air compressor for my home workshop. I want to run air tools and also want to do a little paint spraying and schultzing. Anyone got a recommendation and the kind of size id need (25, 50, 100 litres?) and the CFM of the pump etc. also what make? is there much difference?

Ive seen ones in machine mart, but no idea which would suit me.

I cant be arsed waiting for the thing to refill all the time, but i dont know what overkill would look like

Anything less than 14cfm is a waste of time. You'll be forever waiting for the compressor to catch up.

thanks. was looking at spending around the £200 mark, maybe a little more if necessary.

judging by whats been said above your talking £300, maybe a little more. 100l and 14cfm aint cheap :D

most tools consume about 14cfm, so if you've only got 7cfm supply, you spend half your time waiting.

You will need somthing decent to run air tools.
I had a portable 14cfm clarke unit with a 50 lt tank and it struggled.
I now have one with a 150 lt tank which is fine for most things but runs out of steam with shot blast cabinets.
I would say you need to spend nearer £500+ on one to make full use of it.

To run a shot blast cabinet you need min 3hp and 200ltr tank, talk to the chaps in machine mart they will put you right

what you blasting mate???? i started my company on a diy 20-30 litre pot that i attached to a 150ltr comp took a while to do parts but do able
