So we have bought a 2002 l322 Range Rover and the airbag light is on. When plugging in and reading the code for this is says it’s something to do with the safety battery. Anyone else had this error or have a solution. It did have a new battery before we bought it. Also do these cars have a back up battery for the airbag system and if so where is it located.

try https://www.europeanservicecenter.c...rovers-airbag-warning-light-is-on-in-atlanta/ I believe the battery safety unit is like the BMW and fires a charge to disconnect some of the battery outputs in the event of a crash leaving the hazards and other critical systems still powered , so would check battery and connections for corrosion or broken or loose connections .as the DCU does a self check when the fault is remedied the light should reset

I've had it a few times and a quick fiddle with these usually clears it for a while.
Safest after following the battery disconnect procedure.
