Help! En route home from the south of England to the highlands and coming past Carlisle the engine starts clattering and I lose power I've managed to pull off the motorway somewhere near Carlisle and with the tools I have with me I can see that the crank pulley is loose. It's not the bolt, the whole thing is moving. I'm pretty sure I'm stuffed given it's a bank holiday in England but can anybody give me suggestions of what it might be and who I might call?

Hi sorry for the delay. Thankfully I've got full RAC cover which will take me home but the bottom line seems to be broken crankshaft or similar. Just trying to find the PM button but there's lots of ads on the site so it's quite hard to read!

Suggestions of the problem might be better in the general section.

If it's roadside sortable and you need tools/help or you haven't got recovery cover LZIR.

I'll move to General now until we know more

Glad youve got recovery :)

It does sound like you'll be getting a piggy back home unless someone better.

and a bit of help???
