I have LED indicators, driving, brake, fog, work and reverse lights as well as an LED light bar but halogen headlamps.

The light given out by the LED lightbar is bright for sure but completely unsuitable for headlamp use.

This is funny as fook> Doc being told by people with more experience( as usual) that it is no. He will be back on here bitching when MOT fails, and he has wasted more money. Must be nice to have deep pockets

So disagree with you and you call it Trolling:rolleyes: This is a opinion and Lz in very opinionated. Time will tell. Still waiting to see that king cab sheet metal work:eek:

No more the fact that you say its an MOT fail when they're clearly not  or that I'm ignoring the advice of the MOT man

Its not an opinion in your case, here its a failed attempt to be a smartarse, those lights are fitted to kit cars and are fully road legal dip beam.

You can continue to wait as I wont be fitting it until I do all the welding and plumb in the fuel system, cooling and electronics neatly so I can hide them in the body, but theres a few pictures of the separate pieces knocking around on various threads

and if you kept it in 1 thread would be easier to follow. You so many threads going it is hard to follow. Kinda like horse **** all over the place:rolleyes:

should be somewhere in the what have you done to your landy thread IIRC not complete but in parts ready to go onto the body when I finish riveting on the cappings

are series bubbles the same as defender ones???

If so, and you dont mind the spend, THESE have an excellent rep.

Those projector Hellas look Ok , and will depending on position be acceptable as "obligatory" headlamps providing a dipped beam .
You then need to address the high , or main beam question . If you fit them in the correct position ., and wire them so as they work in correct relation to the dipped beam They will be OK . However as long as they comply with other requirements as to E marking and light output . referring to HID they will need to be fitted in accordance with requirements as to washing, and self leveling , either the lamp or vehicle. You cannot use 150watt lights on the road . It would pay you to read RVLR 1988 . This will give you details as to all the above briefly mentioned. HTSH :)

Cheers if I put them in the original position they should be fine I think, plan was to make up the blanking plate then set them in the centre but recessed so they sit flush, wiring wise its just a simple case of swapping the old wiring over.

My HID's are spotlights rather than main beam so would that not be ok ? and the 150w well they passed on the last MOT and they would come on with the other main beam via stalk

However if you reckon because they're not auxiliary now and the only main beam I'll get hold of a small set of the high beam projectors too :D

Put your wallet back in your pocket Doc.
It will look a toss
Spend your dosh on petrol and go for a spin :crazy_driver:

I may get away with having them in the grille atm ;) my super slim rad may just allow it as its only an inch thick!

But I reckon it'll look good, you wont be able to see the lights, they wont be jutting out they'll be properly frenched in there

The "obligatory" headlamps both dip and main need to be fully compliant , other lights are not a required test item , other than they cannot be on when dip is selected other than "fog lights" (1 pair) which have to be seperately switched to select off so that they will not need to be on other than in conditions of reduced visibility (eg fog , falling snow) .
Auxillary lights no limit as to quantity , have to be matched pairs , must go out on dip but if seperately switched so selective on main beam then not required to be a test item . There are other restrictions on usage etc

Do I need a proper main beam though or can I just have a set of small 55w spots with the E marking like the Hella Micros ?

So they come on with the stalk and off with stalk for the main and then have a set of aux lights as well
