I have a 2001 TD5

I bought one of the sensors below, but I am having second thoughts - its just another potential source of a coolant leak. If you did fit an aftermarket Gauge, how did you wire it up and what sensor did you use?

Thanks!

No link to the item you bought.
You can buy a top hose outlet with an extra hole for an additional sensor.

Thanks added image now - have you fitted one of these on a TD5?

If so I am curious where on the coolant pipes you fitted it (not much room on the TD5)
What size did you use - most videos show a 32mm which I bought but is FAR too small
What aftermarket gauge did you buy?

Thanks everyone!

One of these with an extra hole, Gore products I think.
I fitted one of them in line adapters on our Mustang and going to fit one on the 200tdi sometime. Ok in theory you introduce the chance of leaks but there are plenty of joins in the system already. Doubt two more will hurt

I got a second hand spare top hose outlet & just drilled and tapped into the side of the flange to allow a sensor to be fitted.
Same end result as the Gore item, but a lot cheaper

I drilled and tapped into the elbow near the original sensor and fitted gauges(ECT + EGT) into a universal A pillar pod... maybe seems on the wrong side for you;)
