Hi
Has anyone who has fitted a BRITPART replacement cooling fan experienced any problems or just found them as good as the genuine part?
Thanks

Would that be the fan which depending on model year is metal or plastic or the viscous coupling?
Also Britpart are just a parts supplier, so will provide u with what u want, that don’t manufacture. OEM is the best cost affective part in my opinion, I believe the dispatch service is much the same as any other part supplier.

It is the 11 vane plastic fan which the viscous drive bolts to.
I did look for an OEM but could only find after market and genuine Land Rover fans. The after market fans are £12 while the genuine ones are £125 but both look identical except for being a slightly different colour.

Ask yourself who makes. 'genuine' components for obsolete models

I wondered that but those advertised as genuine Land Rover parts are exactly the same colour as my existing original fan whereas the after market ones are lighter. So I assumed that they were either produced by the original manufacturer or at least to the exact same spec.

None of the fans fitted as original equipment by Land rover are made by them. They are made by a supplier. Look for "Original equipment manufacturer" NOT made to OEM standards.

Your choices are genuine, aftermarket or used.
Priced accordingly!
If you intend to replace the viscous coupling & your current fan is in good condition why not just unbolt it from your old vc & bolt it to the new one? It's only 4 small bolts.

Thanks, is it possible to remove and refit the vc while the fan is still attached to the water pump?

Fan is bolted to the engine side of the VC with 4 bolts.
You can't remove it without removing the VC - even if you could undo the bolts it can't pass over the VC.
