regards  and is anyone selling any ?

You will need a minimum 100amp Mig welder. I would advise the gas type and use mixed gas CO2/Argon. Rent a large bottle as the little ones out of Halfords etc will not last. If you do chassis repairs then a Mig 150amp will give better penetration. Practice on some spare sheet metal. Mig welding requires CLEAN metal so grinder is needed to clean up repair edges. Good luck. Wear proper eye protection, gloves and if inside, keep well ventilated.

i suspect the lidle welder is a stick welder.... ok for light angle iron.... metal gates that sort of thing.... not suitable for thin bodywork. i got a wolf gasless mig for my cils.... i havnt got a suitable garage to weld in ... trying to weld with a gas shield on a windy drive aint going to work imho. an abrasive flap wheel in a 4.5 inch grinder is supposed to be the tool for cleaning metal prior to welding.

re the wheels , disco one is the same fitting as classic range rover and defender.... disco 2 etc and freelander wont fit

I found it best that buying old good second hand kit like sealy or cebora migs made welding alot easier ,120 to 180 amp should do anything you want it to with ease , you will pay more but you get much cleaner welds as long as you prepare surfaces you will find it cheaper by far on gas using bigger bottles if you can get them.

buying a welder is a bit like an internet bride go for the best you can afford, the more you spend the better it will be,it depends what you want to weld, a cheap welder wont have enough power for chassis repairs, if your welding outside then a mig gasless welder would be best but you get a lot of splatter using this type of wire

Stick will do chassis better than a mig because migs laugh at anything that isn't perfect. Gas is best for rusty stuff though. Migs are what you need for bodywork etc because stick will just blow holes in it.
