just fitted a winch bumper and a superwinch 10000 to the front of my 300tdi and boy is that a lot of weight on the nose about 60 kg i recon , is it advisable to uprate the front springs? any advice appreciated

just a pair on the front or all round, i will be adding a fuel tank guard with detachable hitch later this week which is about another 30 kg

You need to bear in mind that a set all round will still make it sit lower at the front, and make the ride harsher. if your happy with your existing ride height, then just do the front, perhaps a + 1", or H/Duty.

It has a 2'' lift done with the cheap spacers under the spring, does that make any diffrence, i assume that the HD springs require more weight to start deflecting, my disco now looks high at the back and the front feel harder than usual....please excuse my ignorance

The simple facts are, your lift is still using factory springs (with spacers), which are not up to the job of coping with a front mounted winch, and thats even when they are new, let alone a few years or more old.

Your best bet would be to buy front and rear "lift" springs and bin the spacers on both ends.

Lift springs tend to be more hd aswell.

Yep I agree, 2" springs (hd if poss) and then with your tank guard on you'll be spot on :)
