MOT for my series 2 comes up in a couple of months. I have recently moved to Dartford from Suffolk and don't know the area, can anyone recommend an MOT tester in the area who'll understand the vehicle they're testing? Seems to be a lot of Japanese and Vauxhall Corsa modders on the Dartford streets, but not a lot of older classic stuff so any advice on who to take it to gratefully received.

I'm also keen to get front seatbelts fitted, not least because the young uns want to come out in the Landy now; this isn't a job I am comfortable tackling myself, it's just too important, so again is there anyone in the area you would recommend to take this job on?

Cheers LZ folks...

Cannot recommend the following highly enough:

Dakar Home

They have looked after my freelander for umpteen years, also another freelander we have on the firm, and my wifes (non land rover) recently.

Sounds like sales pitch, but they really are one of the best garages I've dealt with.

They're on the Birchwood Road from Dartford Heath to the top of Swanley, understand land rovers perfectly, always willing to help, have courtesy cars etc..

Oh, welcome to the forum, not a millions miles away from you, there's a couple of us now from this area on the forum.

:welcome2: to the forum from another local, I am just down the road in Bean

For MOT's I use Claremont Motors in Watling St, Dartford. They have done my modified disco for the last 4 years along with the other cars in the family.

They are Land Rover friendly and the boss is into his classic cars with a Mk1 Escort Mexico being his latest personal resto project.

Once you have used them once the MOT price is normally at a reduced rate via the reminder letter (£40 last time)

Not had them do any work on the motor so can't comment on that side of things.

Thanks for the advice guys, both are quite near me (I'm in Stone on the east side of Dartford) and it's good to know there's a couple of strong recommendations I can rely on. Appreciated.

And thanks for the welcome; good to know I'm not drifting alone in a sea of modded hot hatches (some of which, in fairness, have been really well done!)
