Hi Guys

I have a 2001 Td5, looking to put new tyres on this year, mainly road work, towing caravan etc, sometimes towing boats, currently have 225/70/16 on any reccommendations and from where.

Also waxoil, worth doing? I am happy to have a go myself

In advance thank you, I am still learning but love the Td5

Waxoyl - it's a personal preference, but I would say yes. Make sure you cover the ACE and brake pipes well to avoid/postpone the costs there as long as possible.

Tyres. AT's would be good for road, and help tow the caravan on wet grass...? AT2's very good, BFG AT's slightly better imho.

Waxoil if you intend to keep a long time, also will help on resale. I had mine professionally done and if you can afford it( £500.00 ) its well worth it as they do such a good job which to be honest you will not do as good a job unless you spend days doing it and also the have all the lances to do inside doors and box sections plus its such a messy job to do yourself.

General grabbers A/T 2s. & yes waxoil is good, it can save you a lot of mone in the future especially if your keeping it.

yes to the waxoyl i have done mine my self and at least i know what and how its been done
and as for tyres general at2 are good tyres (i have them) but if the most off road driving you are going to do is a caravan park then i would go for general TRs will be quieter on the road and still have a bit of tread to help if needed

Mine came with Michelin Synchrone which are a road based tyre with a few small nods towards off road use - Michelin say occasional off road.

I have to say that their wet and dry grip is superb and, with ACE, this truck corners like a car!!

If I got into off roading they would have to go though ..
