Hi
I am looking for some ideas with my latest problem on my Discovery 2 V8 , 2001.

I parked my disco briefly last weekend while I popped into a shop. When I came out, it wouldn't start although turned over normally on the starter. After a few attempts I checked the spark and had nothing, I also couldn't hear the fuel pump. I cleaned up both the pump relay internal contacts and also the ignition relay but neither made any difference. I also bypassed the fuel pump relay to check the pump worked but again it made no odds.
So two hours later it then started perfectly and I drove the first half a mile home before it just stopped again.. Then , another two hours later it drove itself on to the steep ramp of the recovery truck and then back off again and up the drive at home..

Started perfectly next day as well but clearly I am not going anywhere until I have it sorted.

My guess is some form of immobilizer fault which allows it to turn over but not start once the contracts get hot?

It's obviously a petrol but I imagine this issue happens on them all?

I did have quite a puddle in the boot from rain water the other week before the trip, clearly a sunroof issue starting which I guess might have allowed dampness in somewhere important?

Any ideas would be appreciated before I start looking into it.

And also, If it's a immobiliser issue, how do I bypass it?
Thanks
Mark

I think I read something similar last week while I was waiting with it. Certainly worth a try swapping it I reckon, I should have one somewhere, I will have a play. Thanks
