Hi all,
Can anyboy recommend a good quality battery charger that will trickle charge the battery on my 2004, L322, TD6 vogue.
I only use the car a couple of days a week the rest of the time she's locked away in the garage. I have Standard charger, but I have read that these may boil the cells in the battery or cause damage to the electrical system.
I'm looking for a good quality trickle charge system that will not boil the battery or damage the electrical system.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There was one in Aldi last week, identical to the CTEC I bought two weeks ago, but a lot cheaper. I've found aldi kit to be generally good.

The Aldi one is fine for what you want, I have one, takes a long time to charge a flat battery but excellent for keeping the battery topped up. Ctek are good but way over priced, you are buying a brand name.

I have used the Aldi charger for over 18 mths now without any problems. It is on the car for up to 5 weeks at a time.:)

I got one of these, aint quite put the Maserati away for winter....is it simple to use guys......be gentle with me.....;)

I have both Optimate and Aldi chargers.
Both do the same job but there is a vast difference in price.

Thank you all for your kind help, I have an Aldi close by, so will give them a look on Monday and let you all know if I obtain one..

I use the Oxford Oximiser on my bikes. What about a solar panel?
A solar panel is fine if it's big enough, with a regulator for preferance, if I'm leaving mine at an airport for instance I leave a 12 watt panel on the rear parcel shelf.

What about through the trailer plug?

(although that's more likely that you drive off with it still plugged in)

I fitted a permanently live socket in the boot for the solar panel when I did the trailer power.

I got a Ring one soon after I bought the car and it has been an absolute boon to half the neighbourhood. Hardly see it these days!
