Just be careful. Some of the cheaper Landys can be made up of stolen parts or whole motors. Do the usual HPI checks etc. and dont buy off somebody from a carpark. Make sure you know where to get hold of them if needs be. If the car turns out to be stolen then the police will take it.

Don't worry I will be doing a full HPI check and taking my dad whos built allot of land rovers over the years so he knows his stuff and someone else to check the chassis for any welding, bulk head and rust things like that thank you for the heads up though much appreciated just want to be massively clued up before I buy a 90

hi, i wanted james my son to get a 90 or defender instead of a freelander as i feel there alot harder as a workhorse, simpler to work on than my td4 and coukd buy possibly a fixya upper as long as the chassis is sound

i do volunteer work with response 4 x 4 and thought a little 90 would be ideal for him and james and i have had a rough time at the moment with me loosing senga and him loosing his mum and since then we have become very close and wish to do a project together

even though i cant do physical work anymore can hopefully guide him, but told him to come on here as there are so many experienced guys who i know are always happy to guide him in the right direction

shame i couldnt buy him one but im only on dla as would adore to buy him one as hes had a rough time with him loosing his mum and belive it or not a 90 is cheaper on ins than the standard fiesta, or small hatchbacks

he would then like to join me in the winter time in support with the response group

feel the 90 would be far better and easier to work on than a freelander and a lot tougher off road etc than mine

hopefully once he gets through his car test , was even thinking if he could possibly get a none runner, but know as long as the chassis is sound, he can out the 90 on the drive so doesnt have to worry about tax or ins

weve been trying to find out which engine is best to go for and it looks like the 200 tdi with the funds

hopefully when he can get around 2 k together he may be able to start looking around and see what that kind of money will buy him

his mum would be so lroud of him as i am , feel so sorry for him he has lost his mum and will be good or try and do a little project together , later on im going to get another lump for mine and we are going to spend about 6 months , so we will both learn along the way

thks again guys and did say to James there are plenty of great people on here and will always guide him

just feel so sad im not in the position to by him a little 90 that needs so work, even if the engine was blown as i could at least get him one, out it on the drive and then work on it over the months etc

thks for looking after him guys as always appreciate ur help

gary

That's pretty tidy actually and decent price will definitely consider one of them only thing is I'm in love with the 90s lol also do the series lll have power steering?

Some do. Not really that knowledgeable on the differences. What region are you? Theres the eastnor show in a couple of weeks. Great chance to meet some of the guys and loads of landies
