I'm looking for someone local to Biggar, Scotland, (an enthusiast or professional) to give my car the once-over.
I'm not a mechanic (by any stretch of the imagination!) but I'm a very keen learner and don't mind pulling things to bits to see how they work. However....
I don't really want to do that with my only means of transport without knowing if it's a necessary/essential way to fix one of the (many) problems I have*.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be most welcome.

It's a '95, R-plated, 4.0 SE Auto.
It's petrol with an LPG kit on it.
The main problem's a feeling of drifting. It's a bit like you've hit a tiny patch of ice and have to re-adjust to keep straight. I'm hoping it's just the tracking...
There's also a fairly severe judder when you pass through 50-53mph and again if you pass through 70mph (accelerating or braking). That, I'm hoping, is just a balance problem...
Those two are probably garage jobs, if I'm honest.

I'm really just wanting someone with a bit of knowledge to have a quick shufty under the bonnet for anything glaring and then confirm/deny the suspicions I have regarding the blend-motors, heated seats, various erroneous 'bulb failure'/'SRS failure' messages etc...

Mine did similar to yours when i got it and better tyres and 30/38 psi made it into another beast, no more tramlining. (255/60 R18 Good Year M/S)

completley agree, check pressures, when I first got mine I took it down motorway and I thought it was going to kill me!! did a little searching on here and then changed tyre pressures to 28 front 38 back. drives like a different car, can't believe the change you get by simply having the correct tyre pressures.

Just checked the tyres.... they're at 3 bar (43psi)!
Yes, all four of them.

I've to take a run into Edinburgh today, so I'll see what difference reducing the pressure makes.

The book says 28 psi front - 38 rear but some find slightly higher 30 psi in front better including me.

Enjoy your trip, it will be a different beast and hopefully a real pleasure to drive
