Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help,
I want to buy a Freelander Diesel about 2000 - 2003 Reg.
Any common faults or advice you can give for me to look out for when im buying one?

Thank you :)

I'm looking for one myself with the same spec buddy. I haven't got one but I've put forward an offer for one I saw.

Don't take it as gospel - in fact it might be a load of rubbish but from what I have found in the few I've seen.

Electric windows can often fail, Sunroofs can leak, some have been converted into FWD because of a drivetrain fault or something, damp/condensation in the boot cubby, fuel around the injectors, oil pump failure.

I have found that most people tend to give them a bad rep but most have never had one. The people who I have spoken to who own one seem to like them enough.

Also from what I gather the td4 is the one to go for. The 1.8 is underpowered and can be strained. Not to mention its got that awful rover engine in it which I have known to blow head gaskets plenty. The v6 is thirsty but better. The td4 is the bmw engine and slightly more econmonical/reliable.

As I said, these are the things I have found out since my search started.
