Well after a month short of eleven years ownership our FL1 has gone .
The combination of increasing water loss ( possible inlet manifold cracked though ) seized no 1 plug ( ?) imminent clutch replacement and diff + lower arm bushes and an annual increase of road tax to € 730 rendered it uneconomical to continue , being my wife's car I had to have confidence in it and that has sadly diminished recently.
I have to say it was a very sad event seeing it leave and had we had less cars in the stable I would have kept it for myself .
There was many a time when I thought I would be ecstatic in writing this note to you all but I miss the old car...............
I want to thank each and every one of you who have helped me through the bad and very bad times and to let you know that it would not have been possible without your wisdom and knowledge .
Gentlemen , I salute you ..............

I sometimes wish I had either my old mini van with a cooper s engine in from the 60's, or Hillman minx I once owned in the early sixties, but sadly they are gone and I still miss my old Freelander 2001 td4 auto gs but now I have my newer one, a 2006 TD4 hse auto I am beginning to love this one so know how you feel .
