Hello everyone I hope you can help, my Uncle has a Landrover Discover TD5, Xreg I think, and it has a diesel leak, when the disco has been driven there is a smelll of diesel inside the car, and also when you stop and park on level ground, come out in the morning and there is a puddle of fuel under the gearbox.
Has anyone any ideas on what the problem could be?

Many thanks for reading.
Mike.

damaged or corroded fuel pipes or leaking injector rail. They are all at the back of the engine. Time to get underneath and start looking I am afraid. Fuel pipes are the most common for going.

If the leak is under the gearbox it is most likely the Fuel regulator. This is an easy DIY changeout although hands the size of a Hobbit would help. Search threads on here as I saw a step by step in pics.
Good luck

Many thanks for replying, gonna have to start climbing under the disco and start inspecting the fuel pipes and regulator.

Thanks very much.
Mike.

sound like the fuel pressure regulator to me had the same problem when i bought my wife's td5, got £250 knocked off the price because the dealer wasn't sure what the problem was. Got one for £50 fitted in an hour.
