I've used a 300w ceramic heater in the past wired to aux battery.....more wishful thinking than actual heat output though.

In my Series 3 ambulance there's a large matrix (twice the size compared to standard) mounted in the back with the blower over the cab door. The pipework t's off the normal matrix pipework, under the bulkhead and along under the floor.

It works really well and as there's no noticable drop in temp from the (bit pathetic) cab heater with the 2nd heater blowing I've come to the conclusion that lack of hot coolant isn't the issue but matrix size.

It's also rigged to work as a cool air blower with vents in the rear bulkhead before the matrix but I don't imagine needing that function often so I'll remove the ducting from the intake vent to blower so it'll draw pre-warmed air from the cab rather than from outside.
