Looking at the wiring for adding cruise control to my V6 2004 Freelander auto.
There are connectors under the driver’s seat for the ecu etc, there is also a lead in the engine compartment for the vacuum pump. I am assuming the connections for the steering mounted switch will be there. The only wire I cannot locate is for the main switch. On the facelift , the main switch was located on the dash near the door next to the reversing sensor switch. Under the drivers foot well carpet behind accelerator pedal I have found a large plug. I think this is the location for an additional wiring loom for the main Cruise and Reversing sensor switches. Can anyone shed any light on this.

My main cruise control switch is under the radio on the centre console. Not sure of they moved it on later models.

The electronics under the seat of my 2001 v6:

As Hippo My cruise ECU and interface are under the radio. I can't think why they would move it but you never know. I have a spare cruise ECU somewhere if you need one ;)

From looing at the catalogue pic's I put up the later 2004 models don't have a centre dash cruise control button. The OP needs to check the location in the owners manual.

Thanks I have all the parts, just cannot find the wires for the main switch. The wires for the ECU are under the seat.

There should be a grey connector in the drivers side footwell which is where the harness plugs in for the cruise master switch which fits on the rh side.

I don't think the harness is available as a separate part number from Land Rover so you'll have to get one made up.
