I saw a Disco 2 on the net but its only 5 seat and i need 7 seat.

Is it possible to add these 2 back seat? Are they just direct bolt on? Are they legal?

I have done this to my wife's td5 . wanted a 5 seater with ace rather than the air bags with a 7 seater. Less roll when I tow and more reliable I think.
It took me about 4 hours to fit all the holes are there apart from strenghener
behind the plastic side panels. You must remember the floor brackets as well as the seats will not work if they don't clip down. You will have to cut the trim at the top of the back door to fit head rests.

I have a set of seats from mine that will never be fitted again .....

I wonder what troubles it would be to hoick out the belts and headrests.

Are the panels available to fill in the empty holes if I did this?

skan4x4 on eblag sell lots of gear and mail, bought a gearbox off them, called there and its disco heaven everything you could want.

Only problem with anyone doing this on a coil sprung one, is that only air suspended Disco 2's have type approval for 7 seats, you could run into problems with insurance, etc.

Greetings CharlesY

I recently bought a 2001 5 seat TD5 with grey trim and fabric seats that I'd like to convert to 7 seats. I've read numerous posts on the forum about the conversion and have no concerns about type approval and insurance implications (there are even different colour coded springs listed in RAVE for 7 seaters that I can change to if seats start being used regularly!)

Before I start trying to source them from breakers and eBay, would you be interested in a swap of carpet and trim if you haven't already acquired the panels yourself?

I live not far from Lanarkshire so it would be easy to meet up.

Yup. NO problems.

I will never re-fit the seats, and if the trims can be swapped semi-neatly you can have the lot, headrests and all.
The seats have been used ONCE, and are now in my attic.
Make me an offer! PM me if you like. then email.

Greetings

Yes I does!

Tried to send a PM earlier today, but it says I'm not allowed to........

Am I doing something wrong or will it work this time?

No - got the same message

"CharlesY has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

Could you PM or email me some contact details instead?
