had that with an Audi RS8.
Had a customer that drove one from Andover to Basingstoke with the oil light on. Came into our place for a "top up". When asked why she had even driven it with the light on, the answer was "its only a warning light - I must have plenty of time to fix it". We just told her to call Audi and get it towed away. It sounded like a bag of nails :(.

Unfortunately it seems like many people will see a warning light and after the initial "shock" will ask themselves whether the vehicle is still running and if the answer is yes they'll somehow be able to mask it out of their vision.
Even as far back as the D2, if the 3 amigos appeared what did many do? Cover the lights with black tape.

Hi mate

Beggars belief why someone would cover up a warning light

As u know is the same with a heating system, often useto write on an invoice of errors like a leaking boiler and needs fixing , few months later they wonder why the fuse has blown , doh

Yer can’t teach common sense , lol

That is why I like the low oil shut off feature on my Ford:)

I think they ignore it for one reason only, fear of what its going to cost to fix.

I always wonder how normal people with normal everyday jobs that cant diy afford to have anything fixed?

Indeed, but always best to at least find out what the error is first, as could just be a low water level,

I know if I wasn’t able to work on my own vehicle I could afford to keep it

See my local dealer Beadles now charge £160 per hour

Or they treat the car like a "white good". As long as it's still running it'll be fine. And those cord like things sticking out of the front tyre and the blown headlight bulb will be sorted at the MoT.

If he's thinking of upgrading to a Freelander then he's more than welcome int Freelander section. Many have popped int there just fer a quick look and ended up owning one.

He already has a Freelander 3

Hi, my discovery sport completely ran out of DEF and so would not restart. I have now put 10 litres of AdBlue into the tank but still not allowing the restart. Any advice? Thanks
May I ask what was done to resolve the problem?

I think you will find the op has done one.
I think so too. It can't be nice joing a forum and the regulars pointing out what they have obviously done wrong. Not something the average person would stick around for. I would hope he can see past this and give us an update. It will certainly help others int future.

Well, while that may be true. Anyone daft enough to let it run out has probably had to take it to a main-stealer to have coins forcibly extracted from their already thin wallet.
I feel for the OP too, but it was an unnecessary bullet to their own foot. :D
Hope they do come back to play again though.

I came across someone resently who had a similar issue previously with a different manufacturer. Their problem was the adblue leaked out. As per rules it wouldn't restart. They din't know of it leaking and while out shopping it leaked enough to go into "dun't start" mode. These things happen.
