Friend of a friend coming to adapt a new td5 bulkhead to a series.I have already noticed the following :

Whatever you expert landy owners call the shelf that runs the lenght of the bulkhead will have to be removed from the old bulkhead (only thing that wasn't rust) and grafted on to the new.

He will have to cut and adapt the centre bulkhead where it clears gearbox and adapt to then marry up to the tunnel

remove and weld the eyes to hinge the screen after removing locating lugs and other extras from where bilkhead meets screen.

That was on the inside and on the engine bay side it looks like making bonnet fit will be the hardest thing......

Any advice would be welcome and i already think that the old acellerator pedal will not fit so can i fit a defender one ?

welder /fabricator usually does modifications to specialist vehicles and seems confident...

check the steering arms on the steering box may need to cut a hole for the drop arm to get full movement and i am sure the footwell are bigger on series or on td5 either way one of em is

you were right the footwell requires a bit of adapting...worsed of all was when i nipped over to paddocks for bits he grafted on the old dash panel but didn't notice he had set fire to my wirirng loom which i had neatlylabeled and tied together
