i have few weeks ago took the ace system off due to constant leaks and installed conventional anti roll bars to my disco.
i must say that you can feel the body roll quite a lot with conventional arbs compared to ace system (i have a 2" lift kit too). wish it did not leak and i didnt have to take the whole thing off......so if you are planning to convert to arbs, think twice and try to fix the system first
before doing the conversion i have read many posts on the topic and some people say they havent noticed a big difference...dont know how

That's interesting to know. Especially as ACE equipped vehicles get older. I am really impressed with the way it handles with ACE fitted and would not want to lose it.

Depends if you drive it like you stole it I guess. Removed the ACE on my D2 with 2" lift and fitted normal ARB's and noticed a very slight bit of body roll when turning into a corner then the ARB held it.
Much more feedback when cornering without ACE. Think ACE gives you a false sense of security when cornering TBH...

With no lift ours feels the same as it did before. Our son's D2 V8 feels as solid as it did before as well, and he has a 2" terrafirma Lift Kit fitted.

Mine once failed for a few seconds, (low pressure - slipping belt) and it rolled like buggery!
