First of all I would like to thank everybody on here for sharing their advice and experience. Thanks to you lads I have been able to carry out some mods and fully service my recently purchased Discovery 2 I read lots of stuff on the ACE system and decided to remove it and fit a conversion kit. It was a cost issue for the future to me. Having test driven it today I can now add my opinion of the two. If I had never had the ACE I don't think I would notice the difference. Having had the ACE I can say it is different. The only way I can explain it is, Ace feels more sophisticated but having the conversion makes me feel better connected to the car as a driver. Hopefully you will understand what I mean by that. I removed the ACE as I had leaky pipework. I have a pump,valve and two actuators with roll barts for sale should anyone be interested. Otherwise they will go on ebay.
One other thing I have bridged the ACE ECU pins 11 and 36 and this removed the light. Once again through a members advice on here.

I would agree that it is a very good system. I got the disco to use first and foremost for carrying my tools and materials, I got fed up of vans. it is nearly 19 years old and looking at the cost implications of either more pipes leaking or pumps and things becoming faulty. It seemed to me to be the more cost effective choice for the future. It is an ES and therefore high spec but I use it as a van and run about. We will go to Scotland in it to visit my sister in law and play golf, as as you know it has plenty of room so is ideal. My wife has her own new car which she uses for going to work, so the disco will do very little mileage. In truth the ACE is a better system but too costly to repair on an old vehicle.
 
I’m inclined to agree somewhat,as I’m finding with mine now.nanocom has thrown loads of codes up,yet today there wasn’t even a light on.Did 100miles yesterday with no bother either.
Looking at prices for the parts for them,the transducer is 70quid itself and I stopped looking after seeing how much the pipes are lol

New to this problem ,today ,how did you bridge the pins ? and are they easy to identify ,I am an electrical novice and would appreciate your help
 
I repaired mine, well worth it, especially on my very twisty commute
I used electric lighting cable for house electrics. I cut off about two and a half inches exposed the wire at both ends and pushed the ends into slots 11 and 36 then taped into pace with electrical tape. Note do not plug back in but tape upout of the way. I hope this helps.

I have taken the multi plug out of the ace ecu,but how do I determine which is 11 and36 ?,I am a novice at this so please bear with me.Your tolerance is much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!

Hello mate, I know longer have the truck so I cannot have a look. All I can tell you is that I had a manual but there are plenty of knowledgable and helpful people on here and someone will give you the answer. I'm sorry but I cannot remember how I knew.

Thanx, using trial and error ,but the advice not to plug it back in most useful ,I would never have thought about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
