Hi everyone, i have a disco 2 s reg and the ACE has got an oil leak on it which is causing the warning light to go off and its driving me mad. I got a price to fix it which was amazingly expensive so that isnt an option but to take it off the mechanic says it will be £250 all inc. do you think that is a fair price? he says i will need a tensioner 2x pulleys, brackets, bolt kits, new belt and then a reprogramme. Does this sounds right to you? any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers.:)

Unless the pump or the valve block itself is leaking/faulty here are all the parts which could leak in the ACE system discovery 2 ace pipes | eBay the fitting is a DIY kind of job so i dunno what can be amazingly expensive(except the valve block).... if u want to get rid of the ACE u can do that with minimal expense(if the pump is not fubar'd)...u have to take a piece of rubber pipe and connect the pump's outlet port to the fluid reservoir then disconnect everything, get hold of some proper fittings with grease nipples, put these instead of the pipes on the front and rear actuators, fill the actuators with some thick oil and they'll act like normal anti roll bars after that. I did it myself and it's working nice. U can reuse the pump for a hydraulic winch sometimes.... or do the trick with the actuators and in this case u have to put just an idler pulley and a new belt.

It's a matter of choice though ... but before u spend big money make sure what's leaking.... it could be just a £50 pipe or a £15 seal.
