Hello everyone, I'm new here and I've found the thread on ACE removal really helpful. But I Am undecided. My ACE system is leaking from one pipe at the block under the drivers seat. I've been quoted £668 to remove the ACE system and replace with a standard anti roll bar system. I can appreciate that this is probable a fair amount of work but it seems expensive. What wrankles is it's only one pipe that's leaking. At £668 is not worth keeping the ACE system.

Thanks in advance for any help and words of wisdom

Welcome......it is expensive to do the ACE removal if you pay someo e else to do it but its a lot more expensive to keep it if you have to start replacing all the pipes and seals, generally if one pipe is gone, the rest arent far behind, (check the rest of them) and in that scenario you may be looking at upwards of 1500 if you pay a garage to do the work. Shop around for quotes and if possible, drive a discovery that doesnt have ace fitted....if you dont notice any difference...get rid of system if its the cheaper option.

hi had the same problem with mine but got sorted bought a fresh valve pump used from a local 4x4 breakers and new ram. there are smaller 4x4 garages a lot cheaper then the main dealers total cost parts and fitting £375. Have been told if you take the ace off your insurance could be void because they have not been type tested. I know the ace is troublesome when not working correct but much better at road holding hope it helps

No - ACE was an OPTION - there's Disco 2's on standard anti roll bars.

You may be thinking of the "converting the airbag rear suspension to coils on 7-seater D2s" issue.
