i have a 2000 TD5 Disco - when i purchased it, there was no towbar so i want to fit my own - i have bought the genuine LR electrics part, but need to know how i get access to the socket (which i believe is behind the Offside Light cluster).
Is there an easy way to remove the trim from the inside to feed the cable through behind the bumper etc. - or can you get access from underneath.

(Despite my labrador messing it up pretty good i'd still like to kep the trim in good nick if possible)

You are right about the towing electrics plug behind the offside light cluster , it just needs the protective cap removing. You dont have to remove any trim the wires can be fed from the plug to the towbar , follow the wires for the indicators as a guide.

thanks for this post- sorry to be ignorant, but do i take out the rear light cluster to get at the towing plug, or can i access it from underneath the vehicle?
