Evening,

Looking for some advice about power surge.

Recently had a Stage 1 remap done on my Td5.
Certainly improved the performance but at the end the guy said there was a still a problem.
The acceleration wasn’t smooth but jumped at about 2k revs.

From the guy’s reader he showed me the screen, it showed there wasn’t any voltage reading from
“Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Supply (V)………0”

Other factors -
If the engine is cold it seems fine but when it warms up the fault reoccurs.
Sometimes on start up the engine revs at about 1k instead of the 750 norm

Any suggestions as to what I should be looking at/for?

I'd start with the throttle pedal. It's just a variable resistor. Easy to check if you have access to a spare one to test.

+1 certainly sounds that way if there is a dead spot in the sensor output.
They seem to come with the pedal, not sure whether they can be bought separately but even with the pedal they are quite inexpensive.
 
Iirc early pedals were two track and later ones were three track?
Basically one side reads 0 to 100 and other side reads 100 to 0, so I assume so long as the pedal always produces a total of 100 the ecu is happy

I had a pedal track wear out on my 2001 d2 many moons ago

According to that code if it's accurate the problem is with the sensor's supply not with the sensor itself, last time when i saw that code as intermittent was due to chafed main harness so the 5V supply from the ECU got lost from time to time, it's quite unlikely to be a sensor fault but possible so better replace that first to rule it out then if no joy you'll have to rewire the circuit or find the problem on the loom
