Just found a cheap AC/DC clamp meter from maplin forty pounds I normally use a fluke 365
At work but for that money I'm going to keep it in the back of the car. I also compared them at work and found it spot on I took some pics to show people hope this might help out some people.

I use one every day at work, their range of multi-meters (UNI-T) can't be beaten in my opinion for price/quality. Why pay extra for the fluke name most people don't need a cert/tested meter...

The AC/DC clamp meter can be ordered for 30 quid including postage from the far east,
 
Thanks for that info I will look at that . I normally borrow the communal megger.
maplin had two meters ac current was 35 pounds and AC/DC current was 39.99
