Hello,

I am getting the ABS and TCS warnings when turning the steering wheel while the car is crawling, and when creeping along in traffic jams. Is this likely to be the ABS sensor or is something more expensive likely?

I also note that the ABS is sometimes active when braking at low speed even with modest braking on dry surfaces, which is why I suspect the sensor.

I have had a quick look at the hub without removing the wheel and can't see the cable from the sensor - can anyone tell me where on the hub it is mounted please?

... and another thought: can you please tell me where to find the connector? I suspect it will be well away from the hub to protect it from crap...

sounds like you have the same issue as me, only mine comes on when starting up. also tells me i have traction fault when turning off ignition.

the sensor is situated at the front of the hub, just by the CV joint. the connector for the cable is inside the engine bay by the chassis legs.

running the nanocom on mine in a minute to see if i can locate any faults.

morning Ant!

checked mine and they are as they should be. mine only started when we started having the hot weather. checked the fuse box, connections and such with no luck. when swmbo has finished doing what she is doing, i'll connect and see what faults i have on mine.

Hi Dave,

If it started due to hot weather, could be wiring or sensor issues as the resistance of the wiring and device can change when they get warm...unlikely bu possible

well, put nanocom on and told me i have a short to another sender on N/S/R and connection problem to O/S/F. going to have a delve into it now and see what i find.

SRS warning was an open circuit on drivers air bag.

also ran some other tests and had a banging noise from O/S/F when testing the sensors, almost like a heat shield loose and hitting something type of noise :confused::confused:

I hate to say this, but a short between ABS sensors is usually down the ABS ECU failing.:(

My L322 ABS issue was down to a faulty ECU when it got warm (sorry Dave)

Ok. Suppose the next question is, where the hell is the ecu lol.

Had a look at the contact plugsand found the casing on the o/s/f was brittle. Not bad enough to let water in past the o ring, but needs changing. All the silver ends are as they should be.

Also found a bodhed connection on the front air bag pipe. Touched it and air ****ed out of the joint. Got some at work so will change that Monday.

Not on mine it's not, at least I've never seen it there on the scrapper, I think it's under the dash:confused:
Under the passender seat are the EAS, Auto & Transfer ECU's.
Feck, I think I was thinking Classic....gonna check RAVE then come back either with a big grin or Sheepish Face.....

Oh dear Ant. Removed the front seat and guess what, not there. Lol.

Ripping glove box out now. :D

Don't, long week so my bad, the Classic is under the seat, P38 behind glove box and L322 is under the bonnet!
