My ABS pump is becoming very noisy and irritating to boot.
Have changed the accumulator wich helped in that the noise was only every 8 to 10 brake applications. Changed the brake fluid as i read some where this would help.....no luck.
So do I have to replace it or can it be rebuilt????

havin' the same problem. Lot's of noise from the pump.

abs light up, handbrake light up, tractioncontrole light up, and pedal feels soft. Braking poor

some help would be useful

I think I read on rangerovers.net that they're not serviceable, but by all means have a look yourselves. It's an excellent site.

Hello

I have a fault with mine. Initially on start-up, after being left for a while (overnight), it will take around 20 seconds to build up pressure and the ABS fault message will come up. After it stops, i turn off the ignition and then on again and there is no fault. the code is a faulty pressure switch. Long story short, i have searched high and low for a pressure switch, but the pumps aren't serviceable, so you need to buy a whole new unit. Land Rover want £1100 plus vat, cheapest aftermarket i can source is £460 plus vat. i have taken a chance off Ebay and got one for £75. I thought under the circumstances, it's worth a shot. worse case, i swap pressure switches over or put the old pump back on. Are there any fault codes on yours?

hi

my pump takes 20 seconds every time i start up in the morning to get to working pressure with the ABS light on, this is normal and the ABS light will go out when you reach 5-10 mph

as for pump making a noise just turn up your radio:D

works for me:D

Try changing the relay, (black one in engine bay fuse box) they can stick either open or closed and then they burn the motor out on the accumulator pump. Mine went a couple of months ago, and stuffed the accumulator:doh: a replacement is about £32 from landrover, If you can get one!!! when I went they were out of stock and were on back order! Try your local car electronics specialists.
