Wondering if someone can clear this up, looking at some axle housing swapping. In a later Disco 1 with 24 spline axles, I have been told that the top swivel bearings on an ABS equipped Disco front axle are needle bearings and are weaker under heavy off road use and the non ABS are taper roller bearings same as the lower bearings and thereby stronger.
Also that in the Rangie classics with 10 spline axles the set up is different again, adjustable top bushes or something same as some of the Defenders.
