Thanks Wammers... I've sent ya a private message after learning p38 had similar fault pre-christmas -before I bought it back. !.... Apologies Biastai for hi-jacking your thread

Have answered your PM. But as far as i recall when brake switch is dicky you only get ABS FAULT not TC lamp. Maybe you should be finding someone with proper diag like a Nanocom to find out what is going on.

Bugger, can only follow the ABS engine speed line from ABS ECU up to around the back of the engine where the HT leads are. I think it goes in to a plug at the back of the valley. Anyone know what this is?

Just looked again and it is the right side of the box the HT leads plug in to. Any ideas what this does?

Will add that to my list!

Currently chasing a wire which may be broken and not signaling the ABS ECU. Starting to understand RAVE a bit more now I am using it. The diagrams show the connectors and wire colours and then you can look up their position to check...hmmm

Right tested line from ECM to ABS ECU, pin 34-pin 4, all in tact and no earth leakage. So I am still stuck as to why the ABS is reporting an engine speed signal issue!

Don't know maybe the speed signal is sent to the BECM then distributed. Looks like you have more checking to do.

Bit of a loss as to what to check........

The pump seems okay as brakes work fine and it fills the (new) accumulator appropriately. I wonder if either of the connections at the pump are iffy, or if the pressure switch is knackered, though the brakes work well?

Since I am not using Nanocom, but an icarsoft i930 to diagnose, I wonder if this will not reset the ABS? Anyone in Lancaster with a Nanocom?

New thought!

My diagnostic tool has an automatic mode which show what modules it can read. This should show the ABS module, but it does not show up. Wonder if there is a com ms problem with this module. Tried another Wabco D I have and problem is still there, so could be cabling or something.

Any thoughts anyone?

Your unit is an OBDII reader it will only work on P38 petrol engines because they are OBDII compliant, it will NOT do any other systems on your P38. And nothing on a diesel. It will only do those on OBDII compliant cars made after 2004. For the P38 you need a Nanocom.

Wammers,

Are you still employed working on Range Rovers and if so how much do you charge for running a diagnostic/reset? I am only 20 miles from you!

No retired long ago. Don't have diag for petrol engined cars.
