My 2003 freelander seregetti 1.8 needed a new drive shaft for front off side. Bought from ebay and fitted. Then 3 lights came on the dash. Ordered new sensor from ebay, fitted it but same problem. Bought a new sensor from Land Rover (96 quid) same problem. Are there different size drive shaft ends as the sensors do not seem to sit flush with the hub. Land Rover say a new shaft is in excess of 500 quid!!! Any help appreciated. I live in North East. Thanks

You may need to clear the fault code to put the lights off, worth connecting to a code reader anyway just to be sure that the one you are changing is the one thats gone !!

did you fit like for like ? theres two different drive shafts for the freelander one with a abs ring on the cv joint and one with a magnet fitted in the bearing I believe , if you fitted one without the abs ring it will bring the 3 amigos on and vice versa !

I wasn't aware there were 2 types. I will investigate. Seems probable that the wrong drive shaft may be fitted as the abs sensor has a securing bolt to hold it into the hub; this does not fit flush and has been packed out. Thanks for the input hoss

as yours has the abs sensor secured by a bolt it is the later type with no abs ring ! has it had a new wheel bearing as theres two types of them as well !
