on top of all my other brake probs I got an ABS light that doesnt go out until the vehicle has travelled 10 yards or so.
Now if I present a car fitted with abs for test with no lamp it will fail, will it pass on going out on travel?
What would be causing this?A wheel sensor?Im overhauling the whole system anyway, new discs, pads.hopefully new master cylinder so now would be the time to find and rectify......any advice?

The ABS Light is not supposed to go out untill the vehicle has travelled a small set distance, although I seem to have read somewhere that its when the vehicle reaches a set speed, say 5mph. Anywway its one of those 2 conditions.
If the tester notices that the light isnt on when he starts up - or doesnt go out as he drives off the ramp - likely it will fail.

The D1 ABS system self checks the output from the wheel speed sensors,it needs more than 5mph to put the light out.( The MOT centre will have a list with all the info on it.)
