when i start my 02 free lander all lights go out as normal except the abs light but the minute i make movement forward or reverse the light goes out and stays out. is anyone else's like this

this is normal,they all do it. I think it has to sense forward movement as part of its self check

Yep totally normal...think it has to travel more than 5 meters to go out..

dont think its distance , has to be over 4 or 5 MPH and get a reading from at least 3 of the wheels before the ABS light will go out

I knew id seen 5 somewhere..just got confused..5mph....5m..same old thing..

btw doesnt help that me handbooks in Spanish..and its in kmh ...had to convert to 5 and mph..why cant they just be in mph....

Actually, they don;t all do it - I think 2002 was the changeover date. Earlier ones do, later one's dont.

I think.

I hope. Otherwise my 2002 has dodgy ABS!

was wondering about that. that's why i put this post up cause a friend of mine has an 02 freelander and the abs light does not stay on after all other lights go out when started. that answers that, cheers
