Hey guys. New member here please be gentle :D

Right got a 95 plate RR 4.6 HSE.
Last weekend the mrs came back turned the engine off but the abs pump kept running

So i went out had a mess and it shut off. Went to go out in it and next to no brakes at all.
So thought the pump had burnt out. Fitted a used pump today and it still dosent work.
No pump noise at all.
So whats my next step ? Relays or is there a simple problem otheres have had that ive missed ??

Thanks
Dave

You have possibly been out an bought a new pump because the relay had stuck shut. That can be only reason pump carries on after ignition is switched off. Check your fuses, check your relay. Maxi fuse 3, 40 amps. Relay 17.

On my 3.9 Classic, the Pump relay stuck and burnt the motor out.....replaced both and rebled the brakes, job done...

Thanks guys. Checked the fuses and there fine so ill look at the relays next.

Little black siemens relay...little bastard because new they cost around £30.

Have a tendancy to stick on and leave you with no brakes (im been unfortunate enough to experience twice). buy a new one but build up a stock of spares - some in your glove box some in your tool box for when it next happens - from scrappys. They're usually none the wiser and think it's just another relay worth a only a squid.

If it does it again run round to the front and pull the relay/fuse quickly to try and salvage the pump. And of course with the spare you have in the glove box replace and off you trundle home...
