So todays progress. Kind off a bit happier today and a much better day was had.

Got the doors painted. I've done ok up to press without getting any **** in the paint. Ended up with a few today :(

Being a td5 one it has the extra compartment on the drives side. But seeing as I've got a fuel tank there I best remove it :p
So drilled about 30 rivets out and off it pops.

Gave the underneath a coat of waxoil.

And sat it in place to get it out of the way and until I can find my floor pans. Still got to replace all the rivets I drilled out. But I haven't got enough.

And last of all I fitted the rear lights. They don't work yet mind. Wiring loom repairs to do :(

Was it quite a solid truck to start with mate? Your flying through and your panels look pretty straight to start with! Not fair mine where all ducked :(

This envy is killing me :scratching_chin:

In relation to your neighbours mate, I would erect a 6ft fence, given the drop it would be more of a 8-9ft divided. the beauty is they can do bugger all as it is classified as a temporary structure and requires no legal or planning permission. Will not fix the issues you are having, but would certainly provided you with some privacy. :D

In a word no :(

The panels are no where near straight. A da makes life a LOT easier and I wish I had bought it earlier.
But I have replaced a few panels as follows for various reasons.

Old bulkhead had been patched in the past. Foot wells and found a few bits of filler
So I bought a late td5 one.
So seeing as the tunnel is r380 on the td5 I then need to get a td5/300 seat box, tunnel and floor pans.

I could have made an adaptor up and keep the old seatbox, tunnel and floor pans.
But my thoughts were I wont be able to get of the shelf rubber mats.
Whereas now I'm going to use a set of td5 footwell seatbox and floor mats.

Next the doors. Well I did plan on using the doors again. The handle was loose on one of them, I thought ah it'll be an easy fix. Wrong!! the frame is rotten where the handle bolts through.
Plus the fact the bottoms aren't the best.
So again I have bought a pair of td5 doors at great expense.

Now the wings. I bought a set of td5 wings many many moons ago. I used the skins on another build. So I have bough a set of brand new wing skins to go with the td5 tops and front headlight panel.

The tub is original. But was covered in chequer plate.
Took it of and it was silicone on which was a nightmare to get off

Sides wasn't to bad apart from the odd dent.

And the roof well that's in a bit of a state and is going to take some doing to get it to look ok.

I told you it wont take you long i know still alot inside yet but its looking mint. Are you going for black roof, bonnet ?
I think it would suit that blue also some nice LED rear lights would look nice i know youve fitted the the standard ones

Cheers :) Yeah it's coming along not so bad.
I think I'm going colour coded bonnet and I'm really not sure on the roof. Black or white. Will make a decision when the doors and wings are on as hopefully I'll get a better idea then.

Oh and I agree, I do like LED lights. And I'd like round fog and reverse lamps. But mods like that will come at a later date when my bank account has recovered

So todays progress.
Well I spent most of the morning digging a set of floor pans out of the shed. Had a bit of a sortout while I was there.

Anyway better pic of door hinges from yesterday.

While they was drying gave the inner wings a coat of waxoyl. Put in boiling water until it's like water and it brushes on lovely.

While they was drying I fitted the drivers door. I had planned to wait until I had a helping hand to save damaging the paint. But they're stored in the shed and I was worried about them getting damaged in there. So thought I'd have ago on my own. Easypeasy. Lined up pretty well as well :)

Fitted inner wings. Got covered in waxoyl, In me hair what a #### to get out

And lastly fitted the floor pans and trans tunnel. Still got to tighten it all up as well as the rest of the seat box.

You have to stay with a white roof mate, possibly silver but please not black!!!

Wings look spot on. :D

Blue always with a white roof! I know mine looks tatty here but I think blue and white are a perfect match.

Ahhh I don't know. Will possibly do a poll when the rest of the body is done :)

Looking great! :)

Thank you for your kind words :)

Yeah I like the blue/white just not sure. And I've got black in the shed :behindsofa:

Well a day of no body prep or paint today. To cold and damp.

First job. Finish bolting the seatbox trans tunnel and floor pans in.
Fit the passenger door.
And then decided to fit the wings. Again I was going to wait for a helping hand at the weekend but I wanted them out of the way before they end up damaged.
Anyway one wing fitted.

And the other one :)

DSCF2115_zpse020d7eb.jpg
[/IMG]

The drivers one looked ****ed so I bolted the slam panel in to see if it would pull it in. Which it did and looked better.
Don't worry I removed it after this pic for a lick of paint :D along with a few other assorted brackets.

Love that colour :) Aaron are you fitting some crystal headlights.?!

I forgot ask you when I was over, can I have first dabs on your rear headling.?! Also let me know if you find the passanger seatbox lid.

Cheers matey

Aaron, that looks epic mate. Can't believe your rate of progress, 10 times faster than me. Great inspiration though, cos these are big projects and it's brilliant to see what can be done. Keep the pictures coming - seeing is inspiration :)
My vote is white roof.

Yeah the colour has definitely grown on me.
I've got 3 sets of headlights in the shed so I'll pick the best. Seems daft buying new.
I'll be keeping my rear headlining. I refuse to pay what good ones go for.
And I can't find my seatbox lids yet  ****e everywhere.

Glad it's giving people some inspiration. Everyone needs it at times. Me included.

Yeah they are big projects. But that somewhat depends on the level you're aiming for. It would be 10 times quicker if you just put everything back on as it came off.

Oh and there will be lot more pics ;) Still along way to go. Even if it doesn't look like it :)
