Hello again,
The front carpets (both drivers and passenger side) in my 98 Disco have gotten soggy again. I've rubber mats over the top of them so it's not always easy to notice when it happens. I've checked underneath and even removed the carpet from both sides but there's absolutely no sign of a hole or even any rust for that matter. I remember giving it a hosedown (before the days of the pipe ban of course...) and noticing then that the front carpets got soaked. Somebody with a Defender had a similar problem and they were told that it was to do with the air conditioning. Is this the reason do you think or could it be the sills and if so what can I do about it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks
Alex

Hi.

I had the same problem, if you lie under the vehicle, and put your hands up between the Gearbox and panel, you will feel a little rubber hose that stocks out - remove the 'nipple' and clean (your should be able just to pull it out - do the same to the other side (passenger side a little hard to stick your hand in) works fine now

Again remember you WILL get a sleeve full of gunk and water - BUT Worth it :)

out of interest did you pull and leave the nipples out for good?
i simply wiggled mine then gently pushed a paperclip in.

sounds all a bit kinky :p

if its still wet after checking the aircon drains (which i think it will be if the carpets are wet after washing) it will be the sunroofs or the front windscreen, mine turned out to be the windscreen.
