Ive had the most unlucky week with the range rover, everytime i seem to start it up theres another fault. The list so far

mon - side mirrors go hay wire when put in reverse and do not return back up to position when in drive.
Left hand passenger side suspension seems to be leaning down a bit
Getting a shudder at 50 mph on wards through steering wheel

tue - passenger side door will not lock, and central locking goes up and down over every bump i go over

wed - didnt drive it, phew

thurs - LH side light comes up on dash but is not out

Fri - Liquid pouring out from under the car, turns out to be water. Refilled cooler and hasnt leeked again, fingers crossed

Sat - gearbox fault comes up on dash occasionally but not all the time

Sun - Blend motors gone totally!!

Can anyone help or diagnose some of the problems as im seriously losing all faith in the car

Regards
Matt

Hi Mat, sounds like a bad week!! I'll try and help as best I can here...

Mon - Mirrors, have you tried resetting the posistion of the mirrors when reverse gear is selected. If so have you tried turning off the auto dip and then turning it back on and seeing if that helps at all??

Suspension - are you completely sure its leaning down?? It can sometimes seem that way when your in the drivers seat. If it is, could be a height sensor or leaky air bag??

Shudder - You are not alone on the shudder issue, check out the forums over at rangerovers.net. My Range Rover also has an ocassional shudder at high speed but I think its just because my wheels need balancing.

Tue - I had the problem with the door lock, although mine didn't lock and unlock over every bump. A new door lock motor 'thingy' was £150ish I think.

Thurs - Again, I had this problem with my drivers side sidelight - message centre would report that the light had blown and when I checked sometimes it was on and sometimes it was off. Mine turned out to be a loose connection. Open the bonnet and remove the battery cover. You should see the multi-plug to the lights. Check it is seated correctly and that all wires are securley in the plug. As I said, I had a loose connection, I reseated the multi-plug and the problem has gone (touches wood).

Fri - If it was just water are you sure its from the cooling system?? Could it be the screen washer tank??

Sat - Gearbox fault - no idea, sorry. Is the transmission fluid topped up and ok??

Sun - Unlucky :( Theres plenty of info on replacing them over at rangerovers.net

I hope this helps in someway...

-Wills :)

check the alternater is charging correctly it sounds like thats had a wobbly or dying thats why all the electrical / electronics are going crazy the gearbox fault appears sometimes when the voltage level drops on the system
