Please can anyone help? Recently I have a noise that goes up in pitch as I go through the gears!!! When opening the bonnet the hose between the turbo and inter cooler is expanding quite a lot. Is this normal? Is this the turbo making the whiring noise?

needs a new hose, probably split.

been playing with waste gate adjustment?
sounds like your getting too much boost

just try removing pipe from intercooler to inlet
you`ll not get boost to engine but if it blows your hair orf your getting too much boost pressure I would have thought

anyone else think this

Also was going to suggest a split vacuum pipe, if it's a Tdi

Take pipe of replace that as suggested and spin turbine inside check for smooth spinning any that there is no roughness there will be tiny wini bit of play

over boosting or weak pipes would be my guess....
