Another Series bottle jack ?!

Welcome to the forum , I am guessing you haven’t introduced yourself . Do not be surprised if you get a bit of flak from some the less polite members here . They are usually only allowed access to their computers between medication and are often not supervised .

Thanks, owner of a Series 3, diesel 88. Interesting website.

The discovery bottle jacks are very good I have 2 for my my series 3 88 , good lift on them and extension handle have a look on eBay
Oh and Welcome to LZ

The original series Jack was a screw affair. I bought a cheap 3 ton bottle jack off eBay for carrying around in me landy. The problem is that I can't be arsed carrying a spare wheel so the Jack is academic.

I carry a 3 ton bottle jack for emergencies but prefer a trolley jack. The small point of contact and loading makes me nervous grovelling underneath or even changing tyres.

After getting a puncture in a field I discovered that you need about 15" of lift to change a wheel on a series. My bottle jack took 3 lifts with blocks cobbled from stuff i could find. Came home and bougth a Disco double hight jack off e-bay. Its small and has a cradle end to sit on the axles. One like this:

BUT! Make sure you get the handles as these seem to sell for as much as the jacks!

Many thanks, good to know on both accounts.

I have a Disco one as well, found it in a scrapper. No handle could I find though but I made one with a bit of pipe. Never had to use it so it's good to know that it works on a series. Find yourself a nice bit of thick ply to stand it on ready for soft ground.
