Hi All, my car is a freelander 1 adventurer td4 2006. Recently as i've started her up i've had a red flashing light & accompanying audible warning. The light is on the tachometer immediatley under the 'handbrake & brake system'. I can't find any reference to this in my handbook. Could anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks in anticipation & also for a brill site.
Malc.

sounds like the battery in the remote needs replacing...

does it do it when you unlock and open the door, or when you try to start the engine ?

Hi storm & optimus, rear ingress made me chuckle lol, optimus, yes, it was after unlocking & putting key in ignition, but before turning key.

Forgot to mention, in the handbook it does show the red-light below the handbrake warning light, but doesn't give any info on it.

Thanks Optimus, will try that. Come to think of it...fob has been a bit dicky of late, multiple presses to unlock/ lock. Will let you know if problem is solved when i get new battery. Meanwhile, thanks for your time to reply, it's appreciated.

I'd agree with battery in remote change..mine beeps and flashes at me occasionally ...think it's just saying "Good morning" in it's own little way :0)

Big thanks to those who helped me sort the problem. Fob working much better with a new battery, hopefully no more flashing lights.

Ahhh... yes Cox, but i'll not panic next time ;-) Tony, you're right, CR2032 and i didn't buy a cheapo lol.

yeah dont go for the cheap 10 for 99p from fleabay, you'll just be changing them more often........

like I did!!!!
