My father told me about being on an aircraft carrier (remember them?) in the North Sea on way to arctic exercise and the land rovers strapped to the deck started to move about in a storm and endanger other equipment, so they pushed them into the sea!

All those little galvanised cappings must be all that's left on the seabed!

Bet they scrap loads... if its in a foreign country the cost of bringing them back to the home country probably isn't worth it.
