I'll be applying the products myself Thor. They do a wide range of coatings and if I use them correctly, there won't be any need for a warranty as nothing will ever need to be repaired. Here's their website:
Corrosion Protection, Rust Removal, Car Wax and Car Polish from Bilt-Hamber UK
Having had a better look at the Rhino site (which needs its 9 year old news page updating incidentally!), my thoughts, in comparison to Bilt Hamber's Dynax range, are:
- None of their products appear to have any leeching ability, ie that they won't seep into joints.
- If the coating was to become scratched through to the metal underneath, it apparently has no self healing properties and could allow water to become trapped, leading to rapid corrosion.
- You can't apply it at home, so it's likely to be a lot more expensive.
- It would be very difficult indeed for them to get it inside every nook and crannie of the box sections.
- The nearest centre to me is about 100 miles away (no great problem, but I can use the Bilt Hamber products in my garage).
- I'll be coating virtually everything underneath my 110, including pretty much all the suspension, some of the brake components and every plated fastener. If they were covered by the Rhino stuff, I'd destroy the coating each time I took a nut or bolt out. With BH, two seconds of spraying and it will be protected again.
- I'll also be using Dynax to protect the insides of the doors, the bulkhead and pretty much anywhere else that might go rusty. Once again, I can't see how Rhino's range could deal with that.
In conclusion, I can see nothing in the Rhino range that makes me want to use them to protect my 110 instead of Bilt Hamber's range. But thanks for the thought in any case.
