3... knocking from rear (salsbury axel) when i accelerate issue or not?
4... puddles forming in footwells standard or have i missed a hole somewhere??

1 get a standard airlfilter housing
2 Bias plate detent springs thingymajigs??
3 check play in props
4 std
5 yep not massive ones though.
6 it's fooked obviously
7 check swr and there's almost no one on cb's nowadays. find another landy with a cb.
8 check alternator output.

how much play am i expecting???

Chock wheels, handbrake off and in neutral. Don't worry about rotational play in the props themselves but try and wiggle universal joints and slider up and down/side to side.......should be no movement at all. Also check the end caps on u/j's for cracking.

No big hassle to change them if worn but can be fairly disasterous if they let go on the move.

Oh.....and grease them.....regularily!
