Hi . I'm new to the forum and discos . I've got a 200tdi that I wasn't going to off road but seeing some of the monsters I can't resist .

The project will be slow due to work/ family / money etc but one job I've got to do is the a frame ball joint .

I was going to drop the complete fram and replace ball joint . Bushes for poly ones etc my question is are there any mods that are worth doing to the a frame in anticipation of a 3 inch lift ?

Sorry for the long winded version

Thanks in advance .

I have also seen a modified ball joint somewhere online to allow extra articulation.

You might want to consider new fulcrum bracket bolts and for that matter the fulcrum bracket too:

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1 A-FRAME JOINT + BRACKET + BOLTS - DA1129 | eBay

The ball joint can be a bit of a bugger to get out and the bolts are usually seized with rust.

A lot cheaper here for what looks like the same part and pick a couple of bolts up separately

A-Frame Ball Joint & Bracket (Britpart) DA1129 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.
