Im trying to find out a part number, or if the part is essential -

Under the left wing vent the air intake joins a second intake and has a foamy sponge surround around the join. I had to remove this when changing a wing skin and the foam is totally perished, is it an essential bit? If so does anyone know the name or part number?

2nd question,

When waxoiling the chassis should I be masking the exhaust off to prevent what I imagine would be waxoil burning up when on a run?

just use silicone, its a "seal".

Part number for the seal is MRC8378, cost is £4.80 inc VAT.

I would wrap newspaper round it

Only after asking did I remember Im replacing most of the exhaust so probably best to schedule the wax inbetween that. I will newspaper the rest of it thats a nice and economical idea which is always appreciated
