Hi All,
When I have the air con on in my Tdi I get water running down th tunnel into the drivers foot well anyone have any ideas on how to stop it. I know their must be a drain pipe but I dont know where it runs.

Trevor.

Okay, having just accidentally found the outlet myself (I saw a large, rapidly forming puddle and thought I was in a spot of bother!!!) I think I can help. If you get under the vehicle and look up into the transmission tunnel, roughly in line with the fronts of your doors, on either side you'll see a very short pipe with a small rubber grommet on the end (looks like a smaller version of the 200tdi air filter box drain plug). Pull these off and give them a bloody good clean; these are the drain pipes from your matrix, which is where the condensed water is SUPPOSED to come out.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Thanks Chris,
I will have a look and let you know if it sorts the problem.

Trevor.

I have exactly the same problem and am off right now to have a look.

Well that'll do nicely, small rubber thing, pointy and cross-cut at the end, all blocked up. Pulling it off allowed about a pnit and a half of ice-cold water (not long stopped) to pour out.

Top tip: If you do this on a slope make sure you are on the high-side, my a/c had only been turned off for about 10 minutes and the water, which missed me but proceeded to run exactly under where I was lying..., was freezing. If only I had whacked my head in my hurry to get out it would have been like a slapstick b movie.........
