Well Hi to all members of this site,

It seems I have jumped the gun a little to wich I'm sorry. I did not mean to cause any affence. But hope that I will be able to put in as much as I hope to learn about our much loved chosen 4X4.

I am the proud owner of a 1996 Discover 300tdi ES. that I brought from a local dealer some 8 odd years ago now, and have had many years of faily trouble free motoring. I have been able to sort the odd problems that have popped up,the biggest one was the engine cutting out of its own will and refusing to restart, turned out to be an imobiliser fault and the fitment of a junp kit sorted that. But still enough of the waffle. I just thought, after being reminded of my failings, that I should say "Hi" :)

Very Best Wishes

Pete.

:welcome2: the forum

a good sense of humour and a thick skin are helpful around here but you won't find a better source of knowledge and **** taking :D

Cheers Barmatt.
I do have very thick Skin and those that know me say I have a great sence of Humour. I am very new to all this Forum stuff and so hope that I have not upset too many people as that was never intended at all. In all my years of Land Rover ownership I have found some very good friends, and hope to do so here as well. I have been told in the past that **** Taking is a fortay of mine so who knows this could be a graet place.

Thanks again for your welcome and sorry again if I affeded.

Hello and :welcome: to the mad house m8.

it looks like we might actually be getting somewhere with enforcing some form of etiquette on new members, re the saying hi and introducing themselves, please dont feel its a personal attack, its just we have had so many folk that just show up with single problems and dive straight in with the issue, get the answer and then never return to even confirm or deny if the help they received cured the issue.

This has resulted in some reluctance to help folk who just show up and dive straight in with issues, this place has more communal knowledge than anywhere i have ever known so its worth the little extra effort i reckon to get involved, hell, you might even find you enjoy the banter and the p1ss taking is unreal :)

Hi Discopol, I did get a little upset with the replies I got, as it was my very first time on a forum site, but still thinking about it, You would not walk up to a buntch of blokes in a pub and without introducing yourself, ask were the best place to buy a wide screen TV. So I suppose I did ask for it.

Any way now I have posted my Hello I am looking forward to a long and hope fully happy connection to this site. I'm a big lover of Land Rovers and have had my Disco now for quite a number of years. Even though I get soaked wen it rains as she has a leaky roof and the last MOT cost me over £1000 because she needed her boot loor replacing and Cam belt changing. What is it with Land Rovers, they are not just a car, but become a family member. lol.

I hope to be able to post any thing I may find out about our beloved cars but do fel their is a lot of fare superiour knowlage here already, so maybe I can just make some like minded friends, I may not be able to be on here 24/7 but look forward to my visits.

Any way, must close now, so thank you again for your welcome, best wishes to you.
